The fantastically modeled and expressive Nelson from the Chapel of the Van den Bergh family from Kalmthout has been approved by the Zangersheide show jumping horse studbook. The stallion selection committee recognized the talents and qualities of Nelson van de Kapel. At the beginning of 2023, Nelson van de Kapel took part in the Pavo Stallion Competition in Belgium and showed his fine way of jumping, his light-footed canter and he stands out for his particularly good hindquarter technique, with Nelson van de Kapel finishing the jump very well.

Nelson van de Kapel has exceptional balance, intelligence and flexibility. He stands out mainly because of the way he drives. He jumps off the ground lightly and quickly.

Pegase van ‘t Ruytershof

Nelson is the first approved son of his well-known and remarkably good breeding father Pegase van’t Ruytershof. The ten-year-old son of top sire Comme Il Faut jumps internationally with Jeroen de Winter and convinces with his impulsion and excellent technique. Certainly the opening of the hindquarters, for which the Carthina line is famous, is a strong point of Pegase van’t Ruytershof. In addition to Emerald, this top line in Belgium supplied many approved stallions and dozens of 1.60m jumping horses. Without a doubt one of the most successful sports families in the world.

Nelson’s mother Happyness van de Kapel (2013) performs at 1m45 level with Pieter van den Bergh. Her father Bentley van de Kapel also jumped at 1.45m level and is a son of Quasimodo Z, the well-known Quidam de Revel son from the Loma lineage.

Grandmother Piobe (Indoctro x Oula Owl xx), in addition to Happyness van de Kapel and several 1.35m horses, gave birth to the mare NLF Favorite, who jumped at 1.60 level with the Irishman Paul O’Shea.

NFL Favorite himself did well in sport and exceptionally well in breeding. The daughter of Action-Breaker is mother of the 1.60m horses Indira van de Oude Heihoef (by Casantos) and James van de Oude Heihoef (by Douglas), who has already qualified for the Olympic Games in Paris in 2024. This sporty mother line has been built up for years in Belgium and goes back to the old Hanoverian Lobelle lineage.
