Keurpredicate
The KWPN stallion selection committee awarded Ukato the keur predicate at the beginning of 2022. Ukato has been one of the best showjumping sires in the world for many years. Ukato is in the top in the Horsetelex, Hippomundo and WBFSH rankings. Recognition at the KWPN was imminent.
Ukato he suddenly died at the end of 2014. Although there is still very limited frozen semen available from him, we see the award as recognition for his qualities. For breeders in particular who use their Ukato daughters in breeding, the keur predicate is a valuable addition to the paper of the foals.
9,5 for ability
Ukato, who has always excelled from the start of his career, received a 9.5 for his jumping talent during the KWPN performance test.
Ukato was trained up to the age of seven by Marco Brinkman, as a four- and five-year-old they won in Geesteren. And as a six-year-old this combination was on the podium in Lanaken with the bronze medal at the world championship for young show jumpers.
Later on, Ukato continued his jumping career under Willem Greve and that was certainly not without merit. They won many classes, including the Grand Prix in Dresden, Hagen and Salzburg.
Worldranking
Ukato’s offspring still distinguish themselves every week at international competitions. In the top of the world rankings, former World Cup winner Alamo (Ukato x Ecuador) still speaks for itself. More than 100 descendants of Ukato have a sport record of 1.40m level and higher, most of which have also competed internationally.
Pedigree
Stakkato, Ukato’s sire, has been one of the best sires in the world for many years. He himself was very successful in show jumping ridden by Eva Bitter. Ukato’s mother Leona was bred out of the Holstein mare line 5064, which also produced the stallions Little Rock and Calido I.
