Ferguson

Ferguson, who had to be put to sleep in 2023 after a misstep and complications following surgery, remains available for breeding through frozen semen. His offspring dominated the Pavo Cup finals of 2021 and 2022 with six medals. Ferguson was top supplier at the World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo 2022, four progeny at WC 2023.

Four progeny at WC

At the 2023 World Championships for Young Dressage Horses in Ermelo, Ferguson’s daughter Lightning Star won her second bronze medal. His son Nero took part in the finals for the five-year-olds and a total of three children took part in the seven-year-olds, in addition to Lightning Star, also First Lewis and Lord Platinum.

Dominance in Pavo Cup and tests

Ferguson’s offspring dominated the 2021 and 2022 Pavo Cup finals with six medals: 2x gold, silver and 3x bronze. His daughter Lightning Star won bronze at the WC for Young horses in 2021 in Verden and reached eighth place in the WC Final in 2022. Lord Platinum (Ferguson x Bretton Woods) was even better in fifth place. With four offspring at the World Cup, Ferguson was one of the top progenitors of the World Championship for young dressage horses 2022. In the five-year-olds, his daughter My Precious just missed out on the WC podium in fourth place. Ferguson’s approved son Kyton is one of the best stallions of his year, won the Hippiade title in Z2 in 2021 and subsequently won the KNHS indoor title in ZZ-licht and won the title in ZZ-Zwaar at the NK dressage 2023.

Performance

In 2013 Ferguson was approved by his ‘own’ studbook the Hannoverians and in 2014 the KWPN approved him after completing the performance test with 85 points. Ferguson received a 9 for his elasticity and his self-carriage & balance. His walk was awarded with an 8. The judges gave him a 8,5 for his trot, his canter his rideability and work-ethic and his talent. Ferguson was one of the best of his class. In young horse-competitions he showed his ability. At the age of seven Ferguson competed internationally in the Prix St Georges.

Pedigree

Ferguson has an interesting pedigree. His sire Floriscount is approved by several German studbooks, competed at Prix St Georges level, is son of world-champion Florencio and we find proven sire Donnerhall in his pedigree. His dame produced three approved sons and as many progeny competing at Light Tour level.

Ferguson’s dam Liebelei is a daughter of the influential thoroughbred Lauries Crusador xx, who produced many Grand Prix-horses. The damline of Ferguson is known for the talented dressagehorses and numerous Statepremium-mares.
