Rising Blue is, like Olympic champion Explosion W, a son of top sire Chacco Blue. In addition, his mother Zarina III is the half-sister of Explosion W. The Heartbreaker daughter is, like Ben Maher’s chestnut, a daughter of the mare Untouchable, who jumped at the highest level for many years. Great-grandmother Barina is a household name in Dutch breeding and perhaps the best mare of her generation. She is the basis of many top horses and approved stallions in dressage and jumping.
In addition to Rising Blue, Zarina III also produced the approved stallion VDL Liamant W (by Diamant de Semily) and the international show jumpers Narina 1 W (by Thunder van de Zuuthoeve) and Iron Dames Michael Jackson W (by Diamant de Semilly). Grandmother Untouchable (by Baloubet du Rouet) jumped at the highest level at Stal Thijssen. In addition to Explosion W, she also produced the international show jumper Boncetto W and the mare Arina, who in turn produced the 1.50m show jumper Eenvoudig (by Diarado) and the international show jumper Koulon van ’t Maaskantje (by Toulon).
So a lot of sport close by in Rising Blue’s pedigree. Third mother Barina (Sultan x Epigoon) is the foundation dam of dozens of top horses in multiple disciplines. She produced the stallion Landeur and is the basis of the approved stallions Imposantos, Tolando and Racoon.
Rising Blue was bought by its owners Jeroen Verver and Stal Brinkman as an embryo from breeder Willy Wijnen from Berlicum. In the autumn of 2024, Rising Blue passed the KWPN performance test with a nice report. His canter is active with more than enough space, good balance and sufficient suppleness. Rising Blue has a lot of quality on the jump and jumps very well with the body upwards, with good reflexes and more than enough body use. Rising Blue jumps with a good foreleg technique and finishes the jump well behind. Rising Blue seems very careful and shows a lot of power and overview. As a show jumping horse, Rising Blue has a lot of talent and gives his rider a good feeling.
